5年ぶりとなるニューアルバム『melancholia』。コロナ禍に発表された前作『herein』に続き、全編日本語詞で構成された本作には、ケンゴマツモト（THE NOVEMBERS）、加藤雄一郎（NATSUMEN）、シンガーソングライターChanoがゲスト参加。アートワークは、Slipknotをはじめ国内外のアーティスト作品を手掛けるカナダ人デザイナー Aaron Bonogofsky が担当した。また、新ベーシスト・小川の加入後初のアルバム作品となり、バンドの新たな局面を示す一作となっている。THE ANDSは近年、ゲーム『スロウ・ダメージ』『A Tithe in Blood』への楽曲提供や、『聖光学院公式応援歌』の制作など活動の幅を広げてきた。結成15周年イヤーとなる現在は、来年3月までをアニバーサリー期間とし、自主企画シリーズ『15th MORE...』を開催中。今秋には京都・大阪・郡山・福島での公演を予定しており、2027年3月27日にはGRIT at Shibuyaにてワンマンライブを開催する。なお『melancholia』はオフィシャルbandcampとライブ会場限定で販売される。
Alternative rock band THE ANDS, celebrating their 15th anniversary, will release their first new album in five years, melancholia.Following their previous album herein, released during the COVID-19 pandemic, melancholia is once again composed entirely of Japanese lyrics. The album features guest appearances by Kengo Matsumoto (THE NOVEMBERS), Yuichiro Kato (NATSUMEN), and singer-songwriter Chano. The artwork was created by Canadian designer Aaron Bonogofsky, whose portfolio includes works for Slipknot and numerous artists in Japan and abroad. melancholia is also the band's first full-length album featuring new bassist Ogawa, marking the beginning of a new chapter for THE ANDS.In recent years, THE ANDS has expanded its activities through music contributions to the games Slow Damage and A Tithe in Blood, as well as composing the official support song for Seiko Gakuin High School. As part of the band's 15th anniversary year, THE ANDS is currently hosting its self-produced live series, 15th MORE..., which will continue through March 2027. Regional performances are scheduled this autumn in Kyoto, Osaka, Koriyama, and Fukushima, followed by a one-man show at GRIT at Shibuya on March 27, 2027. melancholia will be available exclusively through the official Bandcamp page and at THE ANDS live performances.
迎来成立15周年的另类摇滚乐队 THE ANDS 即将发行时隔五年的全新专辑《melancholia》。继疫情期间发行的上一张专辑《herein》之后，新作《melancholia》再次全篇采用日文歌词创作。专辑特别邀请了 Kengo Matsumoto（THE NOVEMBERS）、Yuichiro Kato（NATSUMEN）以及独立创作歌手 Chano 参与录制。专辑视觉设计由加拿大设计师 Aaron Bonogofsky 操刀，他曾参与 Slipknot 等众多国际知名艺人的作品创作。此外，《melancholia》也是新任贝斯手 Ogawa 加入 THE ANDS 后参与录制的首张专辑，标志着乐队迈入全新的发展阶段。近年来，THE ANDS 不断拓展创作领域，先后为游戏《Slow Damage》与《A Tithe in Blood》创作音乐，并制作《圣光学院官方应援歌》。值此乐队成立15周年之际，THE ANDS 正举办自主企划演出系列“15th MORE...”，活动将持续至2027年3月。今年秋季，乐队还将前往京都、大阪、郡山及福岛举行巡演，并于2027年3月27日在东京 GRIT at Shibuya 举办专场演出，为15周年企划画下句点。
